What Lessons Look Like
Meet Your Teacher
All our courses are taught by our founder, Jacob, who has used our system to learn each Czech himself, and is an expert in taking complex topics and explaining them in clear terms for normal people.
One Expert British Teacher
Jacob has spent the last twelve years making our language learning system - firstly for English, and later on for Czech and Spanish - during which time he learnt a whole lot about how languages work!
Speaks Czech & Spanish
In addition to our English courses, Jacob also teaches our Czech and Spanish courses alongside native speaker co-teachers. You can look forward to everything being clearly explained from someone who has already learnt it, while still getting the pronunciation and pro tips from a native speaker.

Founder Of Top-Rated Language School
12 Years Experience
Jacob has been teaching and learning languages since 2014, during which time he's taught everyone from grandmothers to CEO's, trained over a hundred teachers, written multiple grammar books, and come across all the issues and questions you'll likely have when trying to learn a language.
What You Will Learn
You will be following a long-term progression system Jacob has been working on since 2014, for the fastest possible results, custom made for Czechs.
All the essential grammar needed for real-life
In our classes you'll focus on practical grammar you need to speak, and not get stuck in the weeds, which is easy to do with Czech!
Practical "how to" topics
We have a number of practical "how to" topics that you can choose from. From learning how to survive in a restaurant to how to swear like a native, there will be a topic for you!
The most frequently used words and phrases
We only teach words and phrases that are used all the time in real life. We have a special vocab course that teachers super useful words that you should definitely know, but probably don't!
How to talk like a Czech
Learning Czech is not simply a question of learning the translation of each word. Czech sometimes works differently on a fundamental level in how they express themselves, all of which is covered throughout our course.
Our students say our courses
#make sense | #are awesome | #motivate me | #actually work | #make me laugh
Jacob is a skilled, clever teacher whose original methodology is effective for advancing quickly past A0. His lessons focus on useful vocab rather than the rote phrases you'd find in a textbook and never use. Would absolutely recommend for any level.
Lia berger
The best English lessons I've ever had. I enjoyed the lessons, they unlearn past mistakes, the classes are fun and Jacob is a great teacher. I wish I could go more than once a week!
Heather Barber
Jacob’s classes are fun and relaxed — no scary Czech grammar, just simple, clear explanations that help you start speaking fast.

Frequently asked questions
How do online classes work?
Our online classes take place on Google Meet. After sign up for a semester and have chosen a lesson time you will receive a weekly calendar event which contains the link to the lesson - there's nothing for you to do as the event will show up in your calendar automatically!
Where do in-person classes take place?
In-person group classes take place in our modern office in the centre of Prague (next to Můstek metro station). Individual lessons can take place in our office or at a pre-arranged place in central Prague (potential extra travel fee if more than 15mins travel).
How does the semester system work? Do I have to buy 12 lessons?
We organise our courses - both group and individual - in 12-week semesters. This is because our progression system is based on 12 lessons, so you will learn one module in 12 weeks, then the next module etc.
Secondly, as Jacob is the teacher of all our classes, this gives him a clear 12 weeks of work, followed by a short holiday, then the next 12 weeks!

How does paying for lessons work?
Both group and individual semesters are paid for in full up front at least two weeks before the start of the semester. This guarantees your spot in the semester.
We do not offer the option to pay in instalments or at the end of each month.

Are online lessons cheaper than in-person lessons?
Yes! Our online semesters are 1 000,-CZK cheaper than our in-person semesters, so you can learn the same content for a discount!
How do cancellations work?
Group Lessons
Because group lessons run on a fixed schedule, any missed classes unfortunately can’t be refunded or rescheduled. We really encourage you to attend as many sessions as possible so you can get the most out of the course.
Individual Lessons
If you’re unable to attend your regular lesson time, you’re very welcome to contact Jacob to see if it’s possible to reschedule. This might be to another time during the same week, or by having two lessons the following week. While we’ll always do our best to help, alternative times can’t be guaranteed. If no suitable availability is possible, the lesson may be missed. When you book a 12-week semester, you’re reserving a dedicated weekly time slot for that entire period. This ensures consistency and availability, but it also means that missed lessons can’t always be made up.

I paid for an individual in-person semester but now I'm going on holiday
If you pay for a individual in-person semester and then decide to go on holiday for 2 weeks we can offer you online lessons while you're on holiday (at the same lesson time).
If this does not work then you will unfortunately lose those lessons.
